There is no known acne scar cream that will get rid of acne scars quickly, but there are a number of methods to help prevent and reduce the appearance of scars. Avoid picking and squeezing, because scars are formed during the healing process. When additional trauma is inflicted on the skin, extra healing is required and this increases the probability of scarring to occur.
Perhaps the pitting, discoloration and the leftover scars are the most difficult to deal with, once the healing is done. Treating acne scars and treating acne are two different skin concerns. Products that are effective in healing pimples, cysts and whiteheads, are not necessarily the same products that will lighten and treat acne scars. Scars are the result of injury of the tissue. With acne, a buildup of bacteria and sebum in the sebaceuos follicle causes the injury and the body responds by rushing white blood cells and inflammatory molecules to the damaged cells. These molecules can remain for weeks. After the infection heals, the damaged tissue often does not return to its former state. Where a larger infection occurs in the deeper layers of the skin, there may be tissue loss and permanent scarring.
